Showing 47,597 miles but

The Chevrolet Camaro is an
iconic American muscle car, combining dramatic styling with V8 performance and
unmistakable character. This left-hand-drive example offers the classic T-bar
roof configuration and the opportunity to own a distinctive piece of 1980s
American motoring.
Dating from 1984, this Camaro is powered by the
5,000cc V8 petrol engine coupled to an automatic transmission and is finished in
red, having originally been yellow before being repainted in October 1999.
Imported into the UK in 1991, it was first registered here in December of that
year and has had 11 former keepers, with the current owner acquiring the car in
August 2016.
The Camaro was previously owned by garage proprietor Paul
Naginton, who in 2019 undertook what appears to have been a comprehensive
restoration. The car was stripped for a meticulous bare-metal respray, including
the engine bay, with all doors and panels removed to allow the work to be
carried out. The resulting paint finish presents particularly
well.
Further mechanical work included the automatic gearbox and rear
axle being removed and sent to specialists for overhaul, with a new torque
converter also fitted. A new Rochester Quadrajet carburettor was fitted,
together with numerous other new or refurbished components. The expenditure,
including labour, is understood to have exceeded £14,000, with work including a
new exhaust and brackets, new T-top cross brace, new rear tyre and a new
high-amperage battery.
There are numerous invoices accompanying the car
for parts and work carried out, providing further evidence of the expenditure
and attention given to the Camaro over the years.
The vendor advises that
the Camaro starts, runs and stops as expected and it was driven onto site for
photography and filming.
A distinctive and characterful left-hand-drive
Camaro, combining its V8 engine, automatic transmission and T-bar roof with an
extensive restoration history and plenty of 1980s American muscle car
appeal.
