2006 London Taxi Int. TX4 Silver
One private
owner from new until Feb 2021, used to carry the family around central London,
'Silver' spec; just 101,000 miles
Dating from October 2006 this
earlyTX4 model has spent its life ferrying its private owner and family in and
out of central London since purchase until February this year.  As a Taxi,
it could go anywhere in London without the congestion charge, utilise taxi and
bus lanes, slipping in and out of town with consumate ease and absolute
discretion.
Able to carry 5 passengers plus driver and shopping/baggage
with ease and in air conditioned comfort, it was the perfect companion and
vehicle for its purpose.  As a result, all 101,000 miles over its 14
years of regular use have been in private hands, unlike many of its Hackney
Carriage siblings who regularly clock over 400,000 miles of hard
use.
Powered here, as with all UK models by the 101bhp 2.5-litre VM
DOHC diesel motor driven through Chrysler's 5-speed automatic box it offers
enough oomph to pop into gaps in the traffic while returning a decent
mpg.
The TX4 appears in good order with but a few signs of city life to
the body, the roof mounted Taxi sign still affixed although obviously no meter
is installed.  In the back we find the rear bench seat, two fold away
bulkhead seats and a detachable ramp for added ease of access with the
stubby key present (pictured).
The history file includes the V5C
showing one owner from new until February 2021, old V5, MOT running until
November 2021 showing 6 minor advisories one of which has been attended to with
fitment of new front tyres and a stack of old Taxi insurance docs that fit
nearly into the plastic window in the driver area required for a Taxi
use.
An unusual opportunity presents itself, particularly if you
regularly visit a large city where discretion and ease of entry are important.
There are plently of options and at such little money its very
appealing.
