Smart SL 280, fitted with
Mercedes silky smooth 2.8 inline-six, mated to automatic transmission and
showing only 69,888 miles. Five owners, the current since 2020.
MOT’d
until May 2025 and passing with just one advisory for a minor leak of power
steering fluid, a quick look through the history folder shows the service book
containing nine service stamps, that gives an average service interval of just
7,700 miles. The last service was undertaken in June 2019 by Mini Select in
Harbury and it has only covered 763 miles since.
Coming with invoices for
two front struts and top mounts in September 2013. More recently we find
invoices for all new springs fitted for its MOT in September 2021, and
a new battery in March 2023.
Starting promptly and driving nicely on
site, this low mileage Merc looks to be a lot of car for little
outlay.
Please note we have been unable to remove the hardtop to check
the condition of the electric soft top. We can hear the motors whirring but the
hardtop only lifts a few mm, insufficient to disengage from the retaining
pins.
