Ex-Motor
Show car in rare Spectrum Green metallic; only 29,500 miles from new;
8 service stamps, the last only 200 miles ago; extensive history file; current
owner 10 years
The
Morgan Plus 4 was a high performance version of the 4/4 and originally used
the outstanding Standard 2.0 engine from the TR2. In the late-1980s it was
fitted with the 138bhp Rover 2.0 M16i engine mated to 5-speed manual
transmission and in 1992 this was in turn replaced by the Rover 2.0 T16 engine.
It also gained the wider Plus 8 chassis at the same time which gave a useful 4"
of extra width in the cabin.
First registered in November
1994, this Plus 4 was built specially for the Morgan stand at the
1994 Motor Show and was finished in rare and beautiful Spectrum Green
Metallic with a complimentary Dark Green leather interior. It
was also
later featured in James Mann's book 'Sports Cars (First Gear)', a copy of
which is included in the history file.
The
car comes with a Chassis Record Certificate from the Morgan Motor Company,
stating that it was completed on 25th November 1994 and delivered to a Mr
Macleod via Wykeham’s of South Kensington. The history file even includes
the original dealer's invoice, along with 20 old MOTs and a few receipts in the
extensive history file.
In
the current ownership for 10 years, it has only covered 29,553 miles to
date, backed up by the MOT history and service records.
Eight service stamps are in the book, the last one completed in
June 2022 at 29,345 miles by Classic Customs in Alveley. The current MOT
expires in July 2026 with just one minor advisory for an
inoperative rear o/s number plate bulb.
The
car has been starting and driving while on site for photographs and a video
without a problem. The colour on the photos does not do this car justice, the
Spectrum Green metallic really looks great in the flesh and in the
sunlight.
