12 month MOT;
101,308miles; Abbott racing converted; 101,308
miles
A late, high-spec example of
the iconic Saab 900 Turbo Convertible T16S, first registered in June 1993 and
presented here in timeless black with a black mohair hood and contrasting beige
leather interior. This car benefits from the desirable Abbott Racing conversion
and has had just three owners from new, the current custodian having enjoyed it
since December 2012.
Under the long,
aircraft-inspired bonnet sits the 1,985cc B202 turbocharged 16-valve engine,
delivering the full 175bhp through a five-speed manual gearbox to the front
wheels. It is a wonderfully characterful drivetrain that perfectly suits the
900’s grand-touring nature while still providing the punch enthusiasts expect
from a T16S.
The car’s stance is enhanced
by a rear spoiler and attractive aftermarket five-spoke 15-inch alloy wheels
which fill the arches nicely and give it a purposeful, muscular look. On arrival
it has been driven over ten miles, and, on site, it starts, runs and stops
exactly as it should.
Inside, Saab’s reputation for
comfort and ergonomics is immediately apparent. The supportive beige leather
seats are complemented by walnut trim and a generous specification including
electric windows and mirrors, air conditioning, a heated rear screen and cruise
control, making this a civilised and practical modern classic as well as an
engaging driver’s car.
The odometer currently shows
just over 101,308 miles, entirely in keeping with the car’s age and use, and it
comes with a fresh MOT valid until 9 February 2027.
A rare opportunity
to acquire a late, powerful and very usable example of the much-loved Classic
900 Turbo Convertible, enhanced by Abbott Racing and finished in one of the
model’s most elegant colour combinations.
